Park your Grand Cherokee on a flat and
disengage from the negative terminal of the battery.
Open the glove box and release the two
bumpers of the glove box. Pull and twist to remove the box hinges. The mix door
actuator is seated behind the glove compartment.
Disconnect the temperature sensor and
actuator motor mixer door. The motor is a black box in the left corner of the
space occupied by the glove box. Remove the actuator motor mixing door, and
then remove the time under the engine with a set of pliers.
Expose and cut the plastic outer door of
the mixture using the template provided in the repair kit. The repair kit will
contain a plastic model you stamp and mark with a pencil out fat. Using a drill
of 1/8 or a hot knife cut the plastic, with the strength of the light. The
hidden face of the right area of the glove box is the evaporator; mind you so
do not drill in this area.
Expose and cut the plastic inner door of
the mixture, using the template provided in the repair kit. Discard the piece
inner door.
The new blend door pivots grease with
grease supplied in the kit blend door. Install the aluminum door replacement on
the axis. You will notice the broken plastic door sitting in this field, you
must remove and discard. Replace the door outer plastic pre-cut, with enough
sealing strip to a seal. Reinstall the engine ACTUATOR, you reconnect the
sensor. Note that the spindle motor must manually rotate to align with the
drive shaft.
Reconnect the battery. Confirm that the
operation of climate control was restored.
